Date of disappearance: 19th Century

Reason: Persecution

Special power: The goshawk is an extremely fierce predator that can catch birds and mammals of twice its own bodyweight. Like pine martens, it is one of the native animals that can control grey squirrels (an invasive species from North America), which are among its favourite prey.

Status: Goshawks were reintroduced unofficially but are still being illegally killed by gamekeepers.
